Ubisoft and New Regency Partner for Assassin’s Creed Film
Partnership allows Ubisoft to maintain creative control.
Ubisoft and New Regency have announced that they will be partnering up for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures will be co-developing the Assassin’s Creed film alongside New Regency. A screenplay is currently in development, and the project is being fast tracked. Ubisoft has made sure that they will maintain creative control over the project, which is a relief.
This partnership follows the news that Ubisoft Motion Pictures has secured Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class, Prometheus) for the Assassin’s Creed film.
”We wanted to do everything we could to secure the rights to Assassin’s Creed, which Ubisoft has maintained with such care and quality over the years”, said Brad Weston, president and chief executive officer, New Regency. “Having just finished working with Michael on Steve McQueens 12 Years A Slave (with Plan B) made the partnership even more irresistible.”
