Sony Pulls New PlayStation 3 Update After It Bricks Consoles
Sony pulls PlayStation 3 firmware update 4.45 after it causes freezing and other issues for users.
Sony has pulled a new update for PlayStation 3, specifically version 4.45, from the PlayStation Store, as it has caused a number of issues for PS3 users, including freezing and even bricking consoles.
A number of PlayStation 3 gamers have been complaining on Sony’s PlayStation forums about the issue since it released this past Tuesday. The update, funnily enough, was supposed to improve the console’s stability, and also offered the ability to turn Trophy notifications off.
“Hi guys, we’re aware of reports that the recent PS3 update (4.45) has caused. We have temporarily taken 4.45 offline and are investigating”, Sony stated on the PlayStation Twitter account.
If this update has caused a problem for you, some users are stating that they are able to boot the PlayStation 3 console into Safe Mode, which will allow you to update to the updated update, hopefully eradicating this issue.
