Sony Bribes Minecraft Creator With Golden PSOne
Sony attempts to swing Markus “Notch” Persson, creator of Minecraft, to their side at E3 with a one of a kind, golden PSOne.
Sony has attempted to woo Markus “Notch” Persson, creator of the incredibly successful indie game Minecraft, with a golden VIP invitation to E3. Notch tweeted earlier today that a golden PlayStation, or PSOne, arrived in the mail from Sony. Despite the fact that Minecraft for Xbox 360 has broken records selling over 6 million units, Notch has been a very vocal detractor of Microsoft as of late, particularly on the subject of Windows 8. He also made no secret of the fact that he, like many of us, was completely unimpressed with Microsoft’s reveal of the Xbox One, stating that he “wanted a game console, not a voice and gesture based tv remote box.” One would assume that the choice of the PSOne is a bit of a jab at the recently revealed Xbox. The golden PSOne apparently also came with a copy of Dungeon Master 2.
Got a vip invitation to an e3 event from sony in the form of a gold colored psone. Wow. 😀 twitter.com/notch/status/3…

So what’s the endgame here? Apparently Sony wants Notch on their side when the next-gen battle is waged. Minecraft never released for PlayStation 3, but Sony has been supporting indie titles for years now.
