Kojima Confirms That The Phantom Pain Is A Metal Gear Game
0 By Jason MatthewKojima finally confirms that The Phantom Pain is a Snake tale.
UPDATE: Konami has now released the official trailer and screens for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which you can view here.
At a Game Developer’s Conference panel today, Hideo Kojima revealed what we’ve suspected for some time now: The Phantom Pain is a Metal Gear Solid game. The legendary game producer stated that somehow, The Phantom Pain + Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes combine to make Metal Gear Solid 5.
The Phantom Pain will be an open-world game. Says Kojima, “The tutorial itself is a sequence where Snake wakes up from a coma after nine years.”
Apparently, David Hayter is not reprising his role as Snake, as he hinted on Twitter recently. The new actor is unknown at this time, but it will be interesting to hear a different voice after associating Hayter’s raspy tone with the iconic character for so long.
A Fox Engine demonstration was shown, revealing just how realistic the games should look.
We’ll have more information when Konami sends us an official press release.
