Female Ghostbusters Cast Revealed: Wiig, McCarthy, McKinnon and Jones
[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]A few well-known comedic actresses have been chosen to star in a new Ghostbusters movie.
Melissa McCarthy has already signed on for the film, and former and current SNL cast members Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones are all in early talks, according to Variety. The film is eyeing a summer shoot in New York. McCarthy and Wiig both worked with Feig before in their breakout hit Bridesmaids.
The Ghostbusters reboot has long been in development, with original director Ivan Reitman set to return; but while Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson had all agreed to reprise their characters, Bill Murray refused. Reitman left the project when Harold Ramis passed away last year; Feig was approached to direct the project as a reboot starring an all-female cast.
Feig tweeted this image today of the female leads:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][imageeffect image=”26030″ type=”shadow” target=”_self”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
