The Lone Ranger Trailer
The Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp western gets its first trailer.
So, after numerous production delays, The Lone Ranger is nearing post-production and the trailer is finally here! The film is directed by Academy Award winner (Rango) Gore Verbinski, and stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network), Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Tom Wilkinson in this long-anticipated adaptation of one of pop cultures most enduring icons.
So, is this trailer good? Personally, I like it, for although it is a teaser I think Disney showed enough footage to truly pique my interest in the film. Gore Verbinski has always been a trustworthy name for me since I love The Ring and the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie (although the latter two weren’t so great), but after he blew me away with Rango, I have complete faith in him. His skill as a director seems to have pulled off here, because as I can already tell the action looks like it will be fantastic to watch. Not only that, but the film has a very bleak and gritty look that complements the feel that we are teased at. My only real worry is that perhaps the movie will place too much emphasis on Johnny Depp’s Tonto. I can’t argue that he looks to be a great character and I also respect Depp as an actor, but for a film called The Lone Ranger, shouldn’t we see more of that Ranger fellow? I don’t know, it’s just a small worry that I have. Otherwise, this teaser impressed me, and I hope you enjoy it as well.
