Gas Guzzlers Extreme: Full Metal Frenzy DLC Review
Gamepires’ Gas Guzzlers Extreme is a car combat/ racing game – imagine Twisted Metal mixed with a kart racer – that released late last year. Now Gamepires is giving fans of the series a new DLC expansion for the game, dubbed Full Metal Frenzy. With new maps, cars, game modes, and power ups, this DLC pack adds a solid amount of content to the base game for about five dollars.
So let’s get into the details. Gas Guzzlers Extreme: Full Metal Frenzy gives players access to two new powerful cars, the Stallion and the Micro GT. Two new maps are included, including a Cowboy arena set in the wild west, and Zagreb, which is apparently a faithful recreation of the downtown area in the developers’ hometown in Croatia. Zagreb is a beautiful map, and the game engine really shines on this track – it looks like a map from Gran Turismo, and it’s perfectly suited for the new game modes – Destruction Derby, Domination Derby and Dominator. Beyond that, you also get a new police skin for use on all vehicles and an all-new female announcer.
Overall, Full Metal Frenzy packs quite a bit of content for a relatively small price, and Gas Guzzlers Extreme fans will have a lot of fun with it. This DLC pack will definitely add some longevity to the title, and hopefully the developers will release another expansion down the road that has just as much to offer.
