The Sims 4 Revealed at Gamescom
Being a fan of The Sims since it was released, and owning every incarnation of The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, I know too well the monotony of caring for these little people. Eat, shower, chat and sleep are pretty much engraved into my brain.
But from the new trailers released and the Create-A-Sim demo that was shown for The Sims 4 at Gamescom, it is clear that The Sims has evolved. They likened Create-a-Sim as molding clay; it’s as easy as pushing and pulling directly on the Sims’ body parts. There are fewer limitations to creating Sims in The Sims 4 because of this feature. You can now directly manipulate the size and shape of the Sims’ forearm, eyes and even feet – something that has never been in the franchise before.
The core of the game is the more emotional gameplay than previous games. Instead of just being happy or unhappy, the new Sims can now be flirty, depressed, angry and more. The emotional states will affect how a Sim lives their daily life. Angry Sims work out harder, while a depressed Sim will not feel like doing much at all.
The Sims producer Ryan Vaughn also revealed that the game will run on lower-end computers. “We’re really excited to say that players on lower-end machines are going to have a much better experience on The Sims 4 than they did with The Sims 3.”
