Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection Revealed, DatedApril 22, 2013 0 By Jason Bakker
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection turns out to be real, and will include 8 games and two digital graphic novels.
Konami has pulled back the curtain on Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, which was leaked a few days ago. As we theorized in our previous post, the game indeed does include Metal Gear Solid, as well as Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4 and Peace Walker. It seems as though the original Metal Gear Solid is running in its original standard resolution, which is definitely a bit disappointing, but besides that this looks like a great package for fans of the series who missed out on the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
The addition of the original game, plus the two MSX titles, two digital graphic novels and Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions might just be enough to entice even those who picked up the previous collection. Those hoping for a port of The Twin Snakes – well, apparently that’s never going to happen, probably due to problems with the Nintendo license. It should be noted that this package is apparently a PlayStation 3 exclusive and will be arriving in June 2013 for the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary.
“We wanted to give METAL GEAR SOLID fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console,” said Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “With the collection’s multiple titles, players can truly see how METAL GEAR SOLID evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today.”
