Spike VGA 2011 Roundup- Winners, Trailers, More!
The Spike VGA 2011 awards aired last night. The show is almost always hit or miss, usually with a lame host cracking lame jokes, but this year there were a solid amount of world premiere game trailers (and Felicia Day! Playing Fruit Ninja with real fruit and real swords!) that made it worth watching. So without further ado, let’s get to it!

As for premiere trailers, here’s the ones you need to see:
The Last Of Us
This trailer from Naughty Dog, makers of the critically lauded Uncharted series, totally caught me off guard. The graphics are utterly insane, and it says right at the beginning that it’s all rendered on a Playstation 3. There’s no denying that Naughty Dog are the masters of the PS3’s architecture. Just look at the screen below. That’s real time graphics, not CG, people.
Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance
This looks awesome, gameplay wise. Once again we have a cool-looking Metal Gear game with a weird ass title. I’m a bit worried about the story, though. The big news is that now the game is being developed by Platinum Games, from the guy who made the original Devil May Cry and Bayonetta. If you played those games, you came away with two major opinions: awesome gameplay, ridiculous story. From what dialogue we get in this trailer, it doesn’t look very promising; it drips with B-movie cheese. But who can deny that slicing up enemy soldiers into a hundred pieces will be a great stress reliever?
