EA Denies Call Of Duty CEO Chance To Play Battlefield 3 At E3

CVG reports that Activision CEO Bobby Kotick wanted to get his mitts on Battlefield 3 at E3 yesterday, but that EA denied the Call Of Duty boss admission.

Apparently Mr. Kotick’s assistant hopped to the front of the line on June 8th and tried to get her boss admission to EA’s booth. The EA heads deliberated over the matter for a minute before an EA representative came out and shot Mr. Kotick down.┬áThe DICE-developed army shooter is only being shown behind closed doors in Los Angeles, and only the PC version is on display.

Mr. Kotick’s company Activision is showing off BF3’s competition Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at E3, which is another demonstration which is invite-only. We’re assuming EA didn’t get an invite for that.┬áReportedly Mr. Kotick’s assistant got into a heated verbal argument in front of everyone, and then stormed off.

EA’s Battlefield 3 will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 25th in the US, and October 28th in Europe.

Modern Warfare 3 by Activision will hit shelves in the same formats on November 8th worldwide.
