Spanish retailer XtraLive yesterday listed Devil May Cry HD Collection on their site, but it has since been removed. The cover art was shown, and a release date was set for November 30th, 2011. The game will include Devil May Cry, evil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition.
A Devil May Cry reboot is undergoing development at the moment, with Heavenly Sword and Enslaved developer Ninja Theory working on what they say will be “the perfect Devil May Cry”. Fans , however, have been very disappointed in the reboot so far because Ninja Theory decided to overhaul Dante’s iconic look with a very strange, emo-goth-meth-head look. Hopefully Ninja Theory will get the memo and change Dante back to his former self before the game ships, much like developer Sucker Punch did after fan outrage occured when they changed inFamous protagonist Cole’s look for inFamous 2.
Expect the Devil May Cry HD Collection to have trophies, upscaled resolution, and possibly some extra features when the game ships in November. If Capcom is smart, maybe they will have some kind of inter-functionality between the Devil May Cry HD Collection and the Ninja Theory reboot, such as exclusive unlockable content for the reboot when you complete the Devil May Cry HD Collection.
